CONGERING
IN JUNE & JULY 2004
After
some some great weather in May with superb
fishing, June and July have not been kind
to us as the weather has been rough. But,
the odd days that we have managed to get
out, fishing has been quite steady with
some great Congering and Cod's just
starting to show aswell.
Wayne's Conger of 55lb was caught on a
mackerel flapper along with mate Moggy
catching this 60lb, which was the biggest
of the day. In total 12 eels were caught
(and returned alive) along with a few
Pollack aswell.
Toby's crew had great weather and a great
day Conger fishing, with 26 eels being
caught by 6 anglers. Andy Nicoll from
Crowborough caught the biggest at 70lb,
which his mate had earlier but had lost
him with the line snapping as we found
that he still had the trace showing! All
eels were returned alive.
Also that week, Lloyd's crew had some
great Cod's 19lb, 19lb, 18lb and 12
smaller ones, along with some Congers,
although lost 2 good eels - unlucky
boy.
The biggest eel this year so far goes to
Andy Matthews who caught one at 75lb -
Gold Medal.
