AUGUST
& SEPTEMBER 2004
Dave
Bateman from Tilbury had a trip out on an
offshore wreck, which produced some good
fish, such as Congers, a 12lb Bullhuss,
which we don't catch very often these days
and he also had this 12lb Pollack that was
caught with a mackerel flapper.
Over the last couple of months the Cod
have been thin on the wrecks, as they are
starting to go inshore to spawn on the
ground. Black Bream have also been
reasonably down on numbers unlike the
previous years.
Dave Boyce of Brentwood Sea Angling Club
had a good sized Conger of 78lb, which was
caught on a mackerel flapper, which was
one of quite a few fish that day.
September itself seemed to be never ending
with the bad weather and strong winds, so
on the whole didn't produce too many
fish!!
Here's looking forward to October,
November and December hopefully bringing
in some nice Cod's and Whiting for the
winter, which are now begining to come in
on the ground now.
