MAY
2005 REPORT
May
has been good on the ground fishing side
with some nice smooth-hounds on the
bank.
Phil Dobson from St Dunstans Fishing Club
caught a good smooth-hound of 11lb.
Also, Liam Webb from Kent caught this
smooth-hound of 11lb 6oz, which was a
great fish for him.
As most of the crews have been unable to
get out wreck fishing we have been fishing
on inshore ground fishing marks with the
weather not being in our favour. This has
really hit the charter fleets this month
and personally May is normally the best
for me.
I have done a few wreck fishing trips at
anchor for Congers and they are just
starting to feed now with around 9 eels a
day. Gary from London has had the biggest
eel so far this month at 48lb, but, as I
say the weather has not let us get out
there to catch anything bigger yet!!
There are still a few double figure
Pollack and Cod around, and the Mackerel
are starting to come in.
The new boat is now looking superb and is
running well and we are looking forward to
June and hopefully some better fishing
weather!!!
