JUNE 2006 - MIXED CATCHES Ground Fishing has picked up with some smooth-hounds still around with lots of dogfish and a few Tope. The biggest Tope came to Eric Marchant's crew which was a 20lb caught using mackerel bait. It was returned back to sea alive. Terry Roberts crew had some nice Cod and Pollack. The biggest Pollack was 15lb. Alan Dunn caught a nice Gurnard of 4lb, 3oz. It was caught on mackerel feathers while fishhing for Mackerel! First Conger this year! 52lb Conger caught from Wayne's crew from Copthorne. It was caught on a deep water wreck using a mackerel flapper. Congering has been very slow this month. Steve Lathams' crew had a few nice Cod and Pollack and a few Congers on anchor. The biggest Pollack came to Steve himself at around 14lb.
