Reef and Inshore Fishing out of Brighton Marina
Reef and inshore fishing can be a fun and relaxing way to fish.
There is a wide range of fish to be caught while reef and inshore fishing off the South Coast.
It starts throughout April, which brings us the summer fish of Plaice and Bream on the mussel beds. On the rough ground there are Tope, Smooth-hounds and Conger. On the reefs it brings Congers, Black Bream, all types of Rays, Bass and Mackerel starting to show. This takes us through to October. During the summer months, the baits we use are worm and squid for the Plaice and Bream and then for Underlate Rays, Conger and Bass we use squid baits and fresh mackerel.
We both drift and anchor during the summer months.
From October through to March is mainly Cod fishing at anchor with baits. You can also look to catch Whiting with the odd Bass still showing through the winter months. Also, the Rays can also show during this time. The baits we use during the winter months is mainly squid, lugworm, cuttlefish and mackerel.
